Are Superbugs a Close Reality?

By Admin User on February 17, 2012

This month, Richmond is pleased to announce the new course for infection control titled, Antimicrobial Resistance: A 21st Century Public Health Threat. In what is sure to be one of our most intriguing courses yet, Dr. Louis G. DePaola takes an in-depth look at the excessive use/misuse of antimicrobial drugs in modern-day healthcare, and the directly negative effects it has on the increasing resistance between first-line antibiotics and infectious microorganisms.

With higher incidence rates than ever before, many are beginning to question–will the threat of superbugs soon become a reality? Are we regressing back to a pre-antibiotic era? Find out more by taking this course to learn how clinicians can help stop this deadly progression.
