COURSE SUMMARY
TITLE: Access to Care
AUTHOR: Pamela Brilowski, RDH, MS
ABSTRACT: The need for dental care is not limited to specific populations around the world. However, for some, maintaining good oral health is simply not as easy as it is for others because of outside factors that limit their ability to obtain resources and quality care. This course discusses the populations that are more subject to inadequate care and the affect it has on their oral and overall health. It also highlights many key organizations, programs, clinics, funds, and other initiatives that are working to improve all aspects of oral health and access to care.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Understand the unique concerns of various populations in greater need of dental assistance.
2. Learn about current programs organized to help populations seek accessible and affordable dental assistance.
3. Learn what dental professionals can do to get involved and help those deprived of dental care.
